Linda

Activities at the Home & Garden Show:

This year we are excited to be joined by Linda Ross from The Garden Clinic. Linda is the daughter of Australia’s horticultural couple, Graham and Sandra Ross and was always destined to follow in her parents’ footsteps. Having designed gardens in Sydney she went onto join Better Homes & Gardens as a horticultural researcher and then presenter. She also worked as the garden designer on Groundforce, then Garden Gurus and Garden Angels. On Sunday Linda will be sharing her tips on creating a flower garden to attract birds, bees and butterflies.

Your taste buds will also be tempted at the cooking demos with Janelle Bloom, one of this country’s most-loved tv chefs, Author, food writer & stylist. Janelle is one of the original chefs who inspire viewers daily on the high-rating cooking show, READY STEADY COOK, now in its tenth year on air.

Other key events throughout the weekend include demonstrations by The Paling People about how to repurpose fence palings, Speed Date an Architect where you can get your questions answered, Simmark Energy Efficiency talks, everything you need to know about renovations or rebuilding with Architecture Republic, garden designs with Michael Bligh and making your garden productive with My Productive Back Yard.

This year we will also be joined by the Rose Society NSW who will not only display roses but will also conduct some demonstrations and talks throughout the two days.

Our fun dog show will also be returning so bring your fur family along. They can learn some training tips from Barkbusters Illawarra when they visit.

Whether you are renovating, landscaping or just wanting to create a dream Home and Garden … this is the event you won’t want to miss. So much to see, do, love and learn over the weekend! All while supporting our community partner, Cancer Council Southern NSW.

Other key activities over the weekend:

Name the Butterfly Competition

We have a new member of our Home & Garden Show family, but they need a name. For a gold coin donation to Cancer Council Southern NSW you can enter the competition to name the large butterfly, thank to Rusty Rose Designs. Simply complete the form an pop it into the bright pink letterbox!

The person who suggests the best name as voted by the judges will take home a replica of the butterfly, standing at about 30cms – a bit easier to fit in the car.

Cancer Council Raffle
Our exhibitors have been very generous once again with prizes for the raffle. Some of the prizes this year will include:

A Gold Gift Membership to The Garden Clinic

A cement dipped pot with succulent from Pot & Posy

5 Bird collection worth $250 from Rusty Rose Designs

… just to name a few!

Butterfly Colouring In
There will be a craft corner where kids can colour in a butterfly and then use it to decorate the butterfly display area or take it home with them.

Bring out your dead, sick and injured plants
Have a couple of problem plants? On Saturday the plant doctors from The Plant Clinic will be on hand to help you solve any plant issues you may have. Bring along the actual plant, a photo or even a leaf and they will diagnose the problem and suggest any possible remedies.

Stone wall building demonstrations
Simon from Highland Stone Walls will be back to showcase his skills in building amazing structures. You can see some of the work he has created during previous shows around the venue.
